Safeguest Terms and Conditions for Guests

 

1. Agreement to House Rules

1.1 House Rules:
– By using Safeguest, you agree to abide by the house rules provided by the host. Failure to comply with these rules may result in penalties, including forfeiture of deposits and additional charges for damages or violations.

 

2. Responsibility and Conduct

2.1 Lead Guest Responsibility:
– You, as the lead guest, agree to take overall responsibility for all other guests and visitors during the stay. This includes ensuring that all individuals comply with the house rules and terms and conditions.

2.2 Check-in and Check-out:
– You agree to leave the property at the agreed check-out time and not arrive before the check-in time. Any deviations must be approved by the host in advance.

2.3 Quiet Hours:
– You agree to adhere to the quiet hours set by the host to ensure a respectful and peaceful environment for all neighbors and other guests.

 

3. Liability and Damages

3.1 Damage Liability:
– Whether you opt for the deposit or waiver, your liability is not limited to £250. You agree to fairly compensate the host for any damages caused to the property, nuisance created, or any actions that materially impact the host’s income.

3.2 Damage Deposit:
– If you choose the damage deposit option, a hold of £250 will be placed on your bank card for 30 days. This hold is to cover potential damages during your stay.

3.3 Damage Waiver:
– If you choose the damage waiver option, a non-refundable fee of £29 will be charged to cover potential damages. This waiver does not limit your liability for damages exceeding £250. If the stay does not go ahead, in full or in part, the damage waiver is non-refundable in all circumstances.

 

4. Verification and Identity

4.1 ID Verification:
– You agree to complete the ID verification process using the Get Verdict plugin, which includes taking a selfie and a photograph of a valid photo ID. AI will be used to verify that the documents and images match and that you are the person who made the booking.

4.2 On-site Verification:
– Upon arrival, you must present the same ID used during the verification process. The host will check your ID to ensure that the person checking in matches the verified individual.

 

5. Mediation and Dispute Resolution

5.1 Safeguest Mediation:
– Safeguest will mediate in the event of a claim and will settle disputes up to the value of £250. Safeguest’s decision on these matters is final and binding.

5.2 Exceeding Claims:
– If the claim made by the host exceeds £250, and Safeguest believes you are at fault, we reserve the right to pass your personal information to the host so they can pursue you for damages independently.

5.3 Guest Response Period:
– You will have 7 days to respond to any damage claim. If you do not respond within this period, Safeguest will proceed with the settlement or provide your ID to the host.

5.4 Host Claims:
– If any claims arise from the host during or after your stay, you will have 7 days to respond to these claims. Failure to respond within this period will result in Safeguest making a final decision on the settlement.

 

6. Definitions

6.1 You:
– Refers to the lead guest, additional guests, visitors, and pets staying at the property.

6.2 Host:
– The owner, leaseholder, or person responsible for the property.

6.3 Damage Deposit:
– A hold of £250 placed on the guest’s bank card for 30 days to cover potential damages.

6.4 Damage Waiver:
– A non-refundable fee of £29 paid by the guest to cover potential damages, with no limit to the guest’s liability for damages exceeding £250.

 

7. Indemnification and Limitation of Liability

7.1 Indemnification:
– You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Safeguest, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the platform, including but not limited to false claims, misuse of the platform, or violation of any laws or regulations.

7.2 Limitation of Liability:
– Safeguest will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your use or inability to use the platform; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the platform; (iii) any content obtained from the platform; or (iv) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

 

By using Safeguest, guests agree to these terms and conditions and acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accept all clauses herein. Safeguest reserves the right to update these terms and conditions at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Deposit Terms and Conditions

If you choose the damage deposit option, a hold of £250 will be placed on your bank card for 30 days. This hold is to cover potential damages during your stay. Any deductions from the damage deposit will also incur a £20 processing and handling fee payable to Safeguest.

Waiver Terms and Conditions

If you choose the damage waiver option, a non-refundable fee of £29 will be charged to cover potential damages. This waiver does not limit your liability for damages exceeding £250. If the stay does not go ahead, in full or in part, the damage waiver is non-refundable in all circumstances.
